Randi was born and raised in Valdres, Norway and began playing the cello at the age of five at the local music school. In recent years, she has been living in Oslo and has been a student at the Young Talents program at the Barratt Due Institute of Music, where she studies with Ole Eirik Ree.
Randi has participated in numerous concerts and productions, including performances at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet and Oslo Concert Hall on several occasions, both as a chamber musician and as part of an orchestra. She has also been a participant in the FRAMR talent programme at the Hemsing chamber music festival where she has played several concerts.
