Stefan Hintersteininger is a cellist, composer, arranger, and educator based in Vancouver, Canada, known for his versatility across a wide range of musical styles, from classical repertoire to contemporary and improvised music. He regularly works as an extra musician with major ensembles such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Opera Orchestra. He has been a member of the Erato Ensemble and the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra, and is a co-founder of the Ethos Collective, a sextet dedicated to contemporary and improvised music. In addition to his performing career, Hintersteininger is active as a composer, arranger, and teacher.
